Advantages - Why Brandenburger Liner

Thanks to the long-term modulus of elasticity of 11,180 N/mm² or 13,288 N/mm², a high mechanical strength can be ensured. This makes it possible to design the liner thinner, which saves material costs as well as makes the installation quicker and more reliable.

The glass-fibre wear protection layer protects the bearing laminate of the liner and simultaneously minimizes the abrasion of the surface. Since the fibre consists of glass, the transparency of the composite is not impaired and the coefficient of expansion remains uniform. Thus the liner holds up to any practical load without disadvantages. The wear according to the Darmstadt abrasion resistance test is less than 0.1 mm and is already included in each BB2.5 additionally to the statically stable wall thickness, without additional costs being charged for it.

The additional external protection provides double protection for the Brandenburger Liner. Liners with large diameters and high weight in particular are additionally protected from mechanical damage during the draw-in process. The double reliability that results from the double-layer external foil composite also means that no closed preliner is necessary when groundwater is present!

The additional external protection also serves as an integrated slide foil, which is also a part of the DIBt certification. This makes it possible in most cases to omit the extra slide foil for the drawing in, which makes it possible to omit a work step at the construction site and thus save costs.

Advantages:

  • Double reliability if groundwater is present
  • Best protection against mechanical influences
  • The slide foil may possibly be omitted
  • Reduced efforts during installation and the handling of the slide foil

Brandenburger places a special focus in the development of its products on ease of on-site handling. This provides an added value for the customer with respect to safety and the minimisation of risk during installation, while simultaneously reducing time!

The fibre-laminated external foil bonds the wound laminate with the external foil and can be installed as a compact package. Thus the liner no longer shifts within its packaging during installation.

Due to the special resin recipe of the pipe liner, it becomes very pliable as well as transparent and facilitates the outlining of the lateral inlets. This provides a greater reliability during the subsequent milling open of the inlets.

A further advantage of the special construction can be seen during the preparation of the pipe liner on the construction site. The installation of the light chain also proves to be easy, because the liner remains erect without collapsing right away.

Advantages:

  • Easy feeding into the sewer
  • Outlining the lateral inlets
  • Easy cutting of the material
  • Simplified insertion of the light chain

Thanks to the purity of the materials and the special composition of glass, resin and additives, a very high translucency is achieved. This provides the conditions for a reliable and rapid curing of the Brandenburger Liner. As a result, the construction site can be completed speedily, which also saves further costs.

Components & Quality assurance

Constant improvement of the products

The main components of our pipe liner are glass and resin. To ensure fault-free function at the construction site, the other components also need to be appropriately coordinated.

To ensure optimal quality of our products at any time, we have had our company certified for DIN EN 9001:2015 by TÜV Hessen. Additionally we are subject to the 6-month independent inspection according to the DIBt regulations and additionally conduct quality audits at our suppliers.

Our pipe liners are offered in two different versions. For the domestic sewage range, a UP resin (unsaturated polyester, acc. to DIN 18820 group 3; type 1140), which is temperature resistant up to 50 °C with normal sewage.

The second version is a VE resin (vinyl ester, acc. to DIN 18820 group 5; type 1310), which is recommendable for industrial wastewater. The resistance against chemicals depends on their concentration and temperatures up to 70 °C can be withstood.

We use ECR Ultrapipe glass exclusively, which was developed together with our supplier specifically for the production of the BB2.5. The material thickness of the glass fibre composite is 0.7 mm. This effects an efficient application of the material, because the deviation to the statically necessary wall thickness lies at 0.6 mm maximum. Cost advantages for the project calculation are the result.

Our glass fibre, which is sewn onto the entire surface of each individual glass roll, forms a homogeneous surface in the pipe liner, which improves the flow properties in the sewer and ensures the durability against wear as well as cleaning in the sewer.

In meeting the requirements of the Advisory Leaflet DWA M143-3, our pipe liner is resistant against abrasion for 50 years of use in the sewer. The glass-fibre-matt bonded wear protection layer is 0.1 mm thick.

The 3-layer structure of the pipe liner includes, in addition to the GFRP web, a transparent inner foil as well as a grey UV-protective coated, external foil.

Inner foil

The inner foil used, with 120 μm, is a two-layered transparent foil. The basic material is PE for ensuring the integrity of the foil during calibration and a thin layer of PA which serves as a styrene barrier.

External foil

The external foil used by Brandenburger is a 220 μm thick, three-layered PE/PA/PE foil. The PA layer functions here as a styrene barrier. The foil has the special feature of a laminated PE fibre on the inner side. This provides the pipe liner with an especially good stability for installation in the sewer.

Our BB2.5 liner features an additional external protection for better protection during drawing in at no extra cost as of a diameter of DN 600. This PVC woven foil features enormous tensile strength and is applied to the liner as a second protection against mechanical damage.

Each of our produced pipe liners is packed into an own wooden crate. This is adapted to the ordered pipe liner and manufactured individually for each customer in our own carpenter’s shop. The wood used is adapted to the specific needs of the construction site.

The subsequent shipping of the materials to the construction site is planned by our order processing department. We cooperate with a transport specialist to make a hassle-free construction site workflow possible.

Our order department plans the subsequent dispatch of the materials to the construction site. We work together with transport specialists to ensure an undisturbed construction site process.
