BB RAIL – GRP pipe liners for trenchless sewer rehabilitation in the scope of railway lines and transport.

The trenchless rehabilitation of sewers and culverts within the vicinity of railways places particular demands on the materials, dimensioning and execution. In addition to the usual stresses and pressure on underground pipes, particular attention must be paid to the dynamic and recurring traffic loads resulting from railway operations.

With the BB RAIL, Brandenburger Liner has developed a GRP pipe liner specifically for the rehabilitation of gravity sewers and culverts beneath railway lines. The product-specific approval by Deutsche Bahn AG confirms the system’s suitability for this demanding area of application.

Key advantages of BB RAIL:

  • Specially developed for the rehabilitation of gravity sewers and passages where the burdens from rail traffic take effect.

  • Enables fast rehabilitation of critical sections of the railway infrastructure.

  • Round and ovoid profiles from DN 150 to DN 1000.

  • Installation depths  ≥ 1,10 m bis 5,50 m. (please refer to standardised statics technical data sheet BB RAIL).

  • Proven fatigue resistance with cyclic load (59.4 N/mm2 at 107 load cycles).

  • 3-10 % Expansion rate.

  • DIBt approved within the scope of the BB2.5.

  • High mechanical rigidity, which enables the use of lower wall thicknesses as opposed to traditional CIPP liners and reduces the weight of the GRP liner.

  • Excellent static features.

The BB RAIL convinces with the tested* and proven performance of a GRP composite. The requirements for vibration resistance in the rail sector are met by the load-bearing laminate itself.

Here, a robust and constructively independent liner system is available, whose proof of function does not depend on an integrated liner as a functiondetermining

additional component.

* Basic area of use in accordance with DB regulations: Publisher DB Netz AG Tunnel und Erdbau Technik (I.NAI 431) As per 01.12.2022.

BB RAIL forms part of Brandenburger Liner’s product portfolio. Specialists from product management, applications engineering, sales and production support projects from the selection and technical specification of the liner right through to on-site implementation support.

This means that designers, operators and contractors not only receive a liner system developed and approved specifically for use in the railway sector, but also the technical support required for safe and predictable project implementation.
